Seasons, cours, episode numbers, and where a TV app disagrees

How 9AnimeTV counts seasons and episodes, why a television app sometimes numbers the same run differently, and how to find the row you want.

Counted by the cour

A twelve-episode cour is a season here, a split-cour show has two, and a long shonen has its arcs. Every season page lists its episodes with the title, the day it aired in Japan and the running time, and the Ep flag on every card counts the dated episodes. Long series keep the continuous numbering fans use, so One Piece episode 1100 is episode 1100 on its season pages.

Where the TV app disagrees

A service's television app sometimes groups a run differently: two cours as one season, an arc split in two, or a recap episode counted or skipped. The air date is the way to match them. Find the episode here by its date, then find the same date in the app; the number may differ, the date does not. The one-line summary on each row is the second check.

Finding a row

Type the series and the episode into the search, "frieren s2e5" or "one piece episode 1100", and the results narrow to the series with that dated episode; the season page opens with the row highlighted. The Recently Updated list shows the newest rows across every series, and Recently aired shows the last two weeks day by day.

Marking the place

Every row has a Reached this episode button; press it when the episode is finished and My List shows the saved place under the series. The shared screen page explains how a household keeps more than one place.
